I understand that my post maybe a little confusing, thanks for reading. How easy is it to replace a feature that was removed in the WIM image? (Like the Games Explorer or Internet Explorer etc.)
Rt7lite or ntlite windows#
Once customizing one edition of Windows 7, how do I create an AIO image WIM?Ĥ. I've noticed that although vLite removes components, it doesnt remove the shortcuts to them (I have a shortcut to the "Snipping Tool" in my start menu that doesnt work) (Is there an easier way to stop this without just mounting and editing the Start Menu in the Program Data folder?)ģ. There must be a way to define the default windows features in the WIM (maybe a custom registry?), if so, how would i do this?Ģ. But i would still like to achieve everything you can do in RT 7 Lite.ġ.

I've decided to stick with vLite because.(I'm very impatient). So theres an obvious trade off, more features for slower load and compile time or less features for much quicker load and compile time. Another big problem for me using vLite is, editing the default windows features (you cant do it). However, it doesnt seem to have as many features as RT 7 Lite, for example there seem to be more removeable components in RT 7 Lite than vLite.

Started using Vlite a few days ago, its A LOT FASTER than RT 7 Lite at loading and compliling the image. I started using RT 7 Lite, I like the program as it has a wide range of features and is very customizable (bit limited with the tweaks menu), but it is VERY SLOW at loading images and compiling images.

Recently I've been fiddling around with Windows 7, customizing it to suit different scenarios.
